'It's an *absurd allegation. The United States is a country that promotes freedom around the world. We've investigated every single complaint against the detainees. It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of — and the allegations by — people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble — that means not tell the truth.✟ And so it was an *absurd report.'
- George W. Bush 5/31/05 answering charges by Amnesty International saying his administration is running the 'gulags of our time.'
* Most of the world, me included, thinks this 'President' is about the most absurd individual ever to hold high & responsible office anywhere. It's pretty absurd to apparently believe that simply because you say something - and you hold high office - that makes it the truth, and bad verbiage notwithstanding, argument over. This hammerhead is totally disconnected from reality!
Dubya may stand out in Texas and among rednecks, but he definitely is an embarrassment to our country . . .
✟ ("disassemble" in fact by most definitions, actually means 'to take apart')
