Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 - (Really! I'm not kidding!)
Well, it damned sure hasn't united us, nor strengthened us - but it has provided the 'appropriate (illegal) tools required to obstruct' privacy and civil rights, so if you really want to know the whole truth, the acronym actually stands for:Unsavory Scheme Attacking Privacy by Avaricious Thieves, Republican Ideologues and Oil Tycoons
